This morning, Billy got in touch with the creators of an empowering documentary about what it is to be a woman in the music industry.

The documentary 'Sound Her Way' touches on the personal experiences of female musicians, history and the social impact Australian women in music have on women throughout the country.

The eye-opening documentary features over 45 artists, including Tina Arena, Julia Stone, Sampa the Great and many more. The documentary represents strength, beauty, victory and success, empowering females around the world.

Bill asks creators Claudia Sangiorgi Dalimore and Michelle Grace Hunder, why gender is still used to describe artists, what obstacles women face breaking into the industry and whether the confronting reality of being a woman in music has discouraged others from trying.
