In place from next week

Water restrictions can be confusing but things are set to become a little easier for residents in the Western Downs with the introduction of a new classification system to be put into place from next week - the new system will help residents understand more clearly the new watering times.

The three levels making up the new system are Normal, Conservation and Emergency. This is changing from the current system whereby water restrictions are placed within six individual categories.

The new water restriction levels of Normal, Conservation and Emergency will ensure the community understands where the region sits with water supply throughout the year and for years to come.  Council believes these changes will add clarity and convenience.

The times are as follows:

Normal: Midnight to 9am, and 4pm to Midnight.

Conservation: 6am to 9am, and 4pm to 7pm.

Emergency: Buckets anytime.

Stay water wise.
