Triple M’s Damian Barrett believes the AFL is “never going to be the same again” after the events on the weekend.

Barrett joined Triple M’s Rush Hour on Monday for Damo’s Recovery Session, following the postponement of the league and the financial crisis that follows for the league and clubs.

“They (the AFL) knew it was inevitable they were going to have to make the decision they made yesterday,” he said.

Barrett was realistic about the future, saying the "hundreds of millions of dollars" lost could spell disaster for clubs.

“There is genuine fear now that what returns now with the AFL is vastly different to what we’ve known it to be," he revealed.

“The 18 clubs itself, it’s very possible that not all survive what lies ahead.”

“It’s never going to be the same again.”
