Triple M's Damian Barrett has broken down what happened between Brisbane players and Chris Scott on Friday night, explaining that it was sparked by the clash between Gary Rohan and Lachie Neale and fuelled by a grand final-related sledge.

Scott confronted Brisbane players at quarter time of the Cats/Lions clash on Friday night, where Barrett said on Triple M's Rush Hour that a Brisbane defender - possibly Harris Andrews but possibly someone else - may have sparked the situation with a sledge directed at the Cats' 2020 grand final performance.

"Gary Rohan had had that clash with Lachie Neale," he explained.

"Chris Scott's version is that Lachie Neale said something about Gary Rohan to Chris Scott, and we all know Chris well enough to know he isn't walking away from that situation - in fact, he walked towards it.

"Some other Lions players might have said something..."
