Triple M Footy news breaker Damian Barrett thinks it’s time the AFL starts from round one cold with no pre-season competition.

“I think what they (the clubs) were doing this year was trying to at least get a feel for the multitude of rule and interpretational changes which are gonna be in place this year,” Damo said on the Rush Hour.

“It does get back to the regular and annual debate in what is the right format for the pre-season.

“I’m for now, and for probably two or three years, now subscribing very strongly to if there’s a way we can just go into round one cold, I would really like to see that.”

Damo also spoke about which club "won" the off-season, which teams will struggle and who will fly, and loads more.
