Formula 1 fans have been starved for action over the last few weeks, but that's okay.

Because the sport's about to return from a mid-season holiday for a pair of races at its most legendary circuits - Spa Francorchamps in Belgium, and Monza in Italy.

Daniel Ricciardo is chomping at the bit to jump back into his Red Bull after the enforced break.

The Aussie won in Belgium back in 2014 and is relishing the chance to have another crack.

"Of course it's more enjoyable when you win in a dramatic fashion but at the same time winning is winning and even though I had a comfortable lead that year I could still feel the pressure," he told redbullracing.com.

"It's never as easy as it seems."

One of the spectacles of the track is the high speed thriller that is Eau Rouge - the famous uphill corner where drivers reach speeds of more than 300km/h.

But Ricciardo's favourite section?

"I really enjoy Pouhon. It's a fast, downhill and left-hand turn. That's probably my favourite corner."

"The Les Combes area you have to get right too as they're pretty important. Then the last corner is not very pretty at all but crucial for a good lap."

After Belgium, the driver's descend on Italy where it's all about straight line speed.

"I normally like more technical tracks, but Monza is still fun. It's a track I've always enjoyed and it's quite unique," said Ricciardo.

Team-mate Max Verstappen likes the Belgian race because of all the support he'll get from his Dutch fans who don't live far away.

"I just love the track and it'll be nice seeing so many orange fans in the grandstands," said Max.

"It definitely feels like a home Grand Prix for me because it's so close to the border and as there isn't a Dutch race at the moment a lot of Dutch fans are coming over."
