Collingwood veteran Daniel Wells will play his first game of footy in 10 months this weekend.

Wells will be named in Collingwood's VFL team this weekend, according to Collingwood's general manager of football Geoff Walsh.

Wells hasn't played a game since injuring his Lisfranc in his foot in the Queen's Birthday clash with Melbourne last year.

"Daniel Wells will step out with our VFL team this week," Walsh said.

"We all remember that Daniel Wells had that Lisfranc injury to his foot, suffered in the Queen's Birthday game last year. (It's) great that we'll see Daniel return in the VFL team this week."

Forward Will Hoskin-Elliott has also returned to full training, but is still at least two weeks away from a return.

"He's progressing really well," he said.

"It's probably two weeks of full training and then we'll see how he is from there, but he's certainly stepping up and doing well."
