Danny Green Defeats Anthony Mundine In Bitter Rematch

Danny Green has defeated Anthony Mundine by decision at Adelaide Oval on Friday night.

The hotly anticipated second fight between the two went the distance.

His win on points squared the ledger between the two after Mundine won their previous fight in 2006.

The judges scored the fight 94-94, 96-94 and 98-90 in a bout both boxers thought they had won after the final bell.

"It's nothing to do with revenge," Green said after the match.

"I want to say to Australia this has nothing to do with black and white.

"This is a fight. It's sport. It has nothing to do with colour."

Green paid a special tribute to Mundine after the victory.

"I want everyone here to raise their hand and clap - I don't care what you think, but for putting on a show for all you guys and for being one of the best athletes in the country - a hand clap for Anthony Mundine now, please."
