Legendary commentator and Triple M Footy's own Dennis Cometti has been appointed a Member of the Order of Australia.
Cometti landed the accolade for his years of service to the broadcast media and the community.
The 69-year-old started his broadcast career in 1971, calling a state game between Western Australia and Victoria as a fill-in commentator, and hasn't looked back.
Cometti still commentates for Triple M Footy in Perth after retiring from Channel 7 at the end of 2016.
“It’s a terrific one to get,” he told The Australian.
“I think it must be a reward for endurance, especially from my wife Velia and my two children, Mark and Ricki.”
As Dennis would say, this award is centimetre perfect.
