Detainees Climb Onto Juvenile Justice Centre Roof
Calls for specialist assistance
Two high-risk juvenile detainees have smashed open a fire exit and climbed onto the roof of Wagga's Riverina Juvenile Justice Centre, attempting to cause damage and throwing rocks at passing cars.
One of the detainees involved reportedly injured his leg.
It’s the second time this year detainees have managed to get onto the roof of a juvenile facility in NSW.
Troy Wright from the Public Service Association says its evidence of the need for special units to better manage high risk detainees.
