2020 is undoubtedly a season like no other and the term that has been thrown around more than anything else is ‘asterisk’ as in ‘There’s an asterisk over the 2020 season’.

However, pundits have used that term to detract from the most difficult season that any club has ever had to face. Hubs, strict protocols and tight turn arounds between matches on top of injuries and the normal challenges of a football season have made surviving this year a task in itself and that’s why tonight on The Rush Hour Dobbo has made a case for this season to be remembered as the greatest of all time.

With the announcement of the AFL Grand Final at the Gabba on October 24 (and the NRL Grand Final held the following day) we finally have an end in sight to season we never thought we’d get off the ground.

“It has been a war of attrition; every side is on even footing” Dobbo told listeners this evening.

“Never has the comp been so even in the rules… there have been injuries and there are have been no byes”

“In the AFL, there’s no truer competition than what it is”

“The premiers (of the AFL and NRL) are the greatest ever sporting teams in their code”

Do you agree?
