Don Pyke has hinted at a possible Round 1 debut for young gun Chayce Jones.

The Adelaide Crows drafted talented midfielder Chayce Jones with their first pick (Pick 9) in the 2018 NAB AFL Draft, and after an impressive JLT Community Series, the 19-year-old is every chance to make his debut for the Crows in Round 1.

Speaking on Roo & Ditts on Triple M Adelaide this morning, Crows coach Don Pyke said Jones "was a chance" to line-up against Hawthorn on Saturday at Adelaide Oval.

"He's hit the ground running," Pyke said, "He's done everything right so far."

Pyke admitted that competition for spots is tight at the Crows ahead of Round 1 and that there'll be some "unlucky blokes".

"He will play SANFL again this weekend," Pyke said

"He only came back into training only four weeks ago and probably needs one or two full games to get back to full match fitness."
