A 41 year old P plate driver has been charged with her second offence of high range drink driving on the Mid North Coast.

At 1:30pm in New Year’s Day, the female driver was stationary in her Toyota Rav 4 on Gregory Street at South West Rocks, when without warning suddenly turned right I front of a vehicle driven by a 64 year old woman.

During her attempt of a u-turn, both vehicles collided, resulting in airbags deploying.

The 64 year old female was taken to Port Macquarie Hospital and treated for chest bruising.

The 41 year old female was found to be well affected by intoxicating liquor, she failed a roadside breath test with a reading of 0.294.

She was arrested and conveyed to South West Rocks Police Station where a breath analysis showed a high range reading of 0.233. 

She was found to be the holder of a P1 Provisional drivers licence. 

Her Licence was Suspended and she has been charged with High Range 2nd offence and due to appear before Kempsey Court on 21 January 2019.
