A motorist in Perth has copped a fine for not doing the speed limit.

They weren't even close, actually.

The only difference? They'd gone way under.

The Toyota Landcruiser was booked on Perth's Mitchell Freeway on Monday night for doing 28 km/h under the limit on the road, which has a limit of 100 km/h.

The driver copped a $50 fine for not going fast enough, and didn't lose any demerit points.

WA Police Traffic posted the photo on social media, urging drivers to ensure they don't drive too far under the limit.

“Driving 28km/h under the speed limit on the freeway causes frustration which results in bad decisions which results in accidents,” they wrote.

“Can’t do the limit stay off the freeway!”
