It may sound grave but Marto has issued a powerful warning that “economic carnage is about to occur” if federal and state governments cannot trust business to get back to work.

Businesses are slowly returning to normal as Queensland eases out of COVID-19 restrictions being eased to Stage 2 on June 12th however that may not be soon enough for some and the financial impacts on them may be too devastating to recover from.

Speaking on The Big Breakfast this morning, Martin, fired a shot towards the George Street, pleading with those in charge to allow everyone to get back to work as soon as possible or risk dire consequences.

“The number of deaths from delayed surgeries … or from suicides from failed business is going to far outweigh anything that’s happened” Martin told listeners.

Martin then narrowed his focus, singling out Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk for her sojourn to the Gold Coast over the weekend to speak alongside film director Baz Luhrmann instead of “meeting with business leaders” to help revive the tourism industry.
