NRL CEO Andrew Abdo has laid out his vision for the future of the NRL as the topic of expansion continues to arise.

It is commonly understood that the NRL expanding to seventeen teams would create headaches for the league given a weekly bye for a club would not mean extra TV revenue. However, this afternoon on The Rush Hour Queenslander the CEO outlined how and expanded league would operate.

Abdo also addressed the eligibility requirements that have prevented Cowboys star Jason Taumalolo from playing State of Origin for Queensland.

“what we are working on is cleaning up the international calendar & have a dedicated international window at the end of the year…then you won’t have some players who are eligible, choosing between their state and country…”
