The elderly man killed in Wednesday’s horror two-vehicle high speed crash in the Lockyer Valley brings our region's road toll to 16 for 2018.

The 82-year-old man from Grantham died while the 47-year-old female driver of the other vehicle was taken to Ipswich Hospital in a stable condition, and her 21-year-old male passenger was airlifted to the Princess Alexandra Hospital in a critical condition.

The man’s death brings the region's road toll to 16 for the year, up six for the same period in 2017.

With the Queensland Police Service Christmas Road Safety Campaign, kicking of today it is a timely reminder to everyone that at this time of year we all need to take caution on our roads.
