Elderly Ex-Swim School Teacher Assaulted In Her Lugarno Home

An elderly woman is recovering in hospital after suffering head injuries, following an assault by an intruder at her home in Lugarno.
NSW Police say the 74-year-old found a man in her bedroom at Woodlands Avenue yesterday afternoon, who allegedly punched her to the ground before kicking her until she passed out.
It's believed the woman lay injured for 16 hours before she was found and transported to St George Hospital for treatment.
Police have arrested a 34-year-old man at Peakhurst, charging him with the assault along with aggravated break and enter.
He was refused bail to appear in Sutherland Local Court today.
