Tickets to Sir Elton John’s Once In A Lifetime exclusive Australian concert series went on sale at 9am this morning, and Tasmanians have rushed to the box office to snap tickets for Hobart’s Derwent Entertainment Centre show in a record time of 8 minutes!

Michael Chugg, promoter, said that Hobart has not let him down. Chuggi, a Tassie born-and-bred world-renowned promoter pushed for an Elton concert in Hobart, and Tasmanians proved their desire as strong as the mainland. It’s the most intimate instalment of Elton John’s exclusive four city Once in a Lifetime concerts (the other three are in stadiums) and after today’s results, Michael is working to see if a second concert on the Isle is possible.

“Pretty much every seat at the Derwent Entertainment Centre is a Platinum ticket by comparison to any of the other venues Elton is playing in September” said Chugg.  “But we’ve still priced it in a similar tiers to the others (Platinum, Gold and Silver prices), so Tassie really has got something special on their hands, and something that’s extraordinarily great value by anyone’s standards. We think if Elton will agree to play a second show in Hobart the people of Tasmania will snap up the tickets as fast as they have for this first concert.”

Chugg said fans should stay tuned to 107.3 Triple M for any news of the second show if it is confirmed.

All other mainland concerts also sold out today.
