Glenorchy's Elwick Hotel has again been the target of an armed robbery.

Three people are assisting with police enquiries following an armed robbery at the Elwick at around 1.55 this morning.

Police say a man entered the gaming area of the hotel and threatened staff members with a metal object, believed to be a crow bar, which he had hidden on his person when he entered the premises.

The staff members complied with his demands and called for police assistance as the man left with the staff uninjured during the robbery.

The suspect was located a short time later in Glenorchy with a vehicle of interest and two other people also located.

The vehicle was towed for examination and the three people are assisting with the investigation.

The Elwick was the scene of a previous armed robbery on 25th September this year. In that incident Police appealed to the public regarding the movements of two vehicles or their occupants of on the afternoon and evening of Sunday 24 September.
