The Central Queensland Rescue Emergency Services Day has been postponed. Originally scheduled for this weekend at Harrup Park the event has had to be moved to June due to extreme wet weather. There were over 5,000 people at the inaugural event so organisers are keen to ensure it continues. Mud World has also been postponed.

A man missing in the Mackay area has been found safe and well. Police released CCTV footage earlier this week to help locate forty year old Scott Saville. Thanks to public assistance he was reportedly located yesterday.

Heavy rainfall across the region is good news for Eungella Dam. The Dam has started spilling water as it sits at 100.2% capacity. Those downstream from Eungella should expect increased river flows and need to avoid potential debris, fast flowing, or deep water.

Mackay’s population growth rates are remaining low. Our region recording a rate of -.1% last year, compared to its average annual growth rate over 17 years of 1.6% Bill Cummings, Principle of Cummings Economics, says figures show the rates have remained at the lower end for some time now.
