Two people are dead following a fatal crash on Great Eastern Highway near Northam yesterday afternoon.

 

About 4:25pm a Holden Caprice was being driven east on Great Eastern Highway. At the same time a Hyundai Elantra was being driven west on the same road. The two vehicles collided near the intersection of Mitchell Avenue.

 

The passenger in the Holden Caprice, a 20-year-old man from Northam, died at the scene of the crash. The driver of the Holden Caprice, a 44-year-old man from York, was taken to Northam Regional Hospital with life-threatening injuries, where he later died.

 

The driver of the Hyundai Elantra, a man in his 40’s, and his passenger, a man in his 50’s, were both taken to hospital by St John Ambulance. Their injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.
