Police are investigating a house fire in Sydney's inner-west on Sunday night that tore through a row of terraces. 

Emergency services were called to a home on Darley Street, Newtown around 1:00am following reports of a blaze that had broken out and spread to four adjoining houses.

15 residents were evacuated from their homes as fire crews took seven hours to extinguish the blaze.

No one was injured, but the fire caused significantly smoke and heat damage to all five properties.
