Fire Trucks To Trial Vibrator Sirens Through Surfers Paradise
Alerts Drivers With Subwoofers
Drivers may soon feel the vibration of a fire truck behind them while on the road.
Queensland firefighters are trialling new rumbler-type sirens that emit low-frequency soundwaves through large subwoofer speakers, creating a vibration that can be felt up to 60 metres away.
They're set to be tested out in Surfers Paradise, as well as a few other places around the state.
It's in a bid to help the fire trucks flow weave through traffic quicker and arrive at emergencies sooner.
