Red Hot Chili Peppers were off to a rough start on their Australian tour after the power cut out at Derwent Entertainment Centre, Tasmania last night.

Only one song in and the venue lost all power, leaving bass player Flea to entertain the sellout crowd by doing handstands for about 15 minutes.

Once the power returned the American rock band gave it their all, smashing out an epic 18 song set including tributes to the late David Bowie and Chris Cornell and covering Iggy and The Stooges and the chart topping Stevie Wonder tune Higher Ground.

Red Hot Chili Peppers are touring Australia thanks to Triple M and Live Nation.
