Flemington Station Closed Due To Flooding, Serious Delays Getting To The Racecourse

Racegoers are experiencing serious delays getting to Flemington for today's big race. 

Flooding near Flemington Racecourse has seen widespread delays for racegoers across Melbourne’s rail network, with Metro closing one platform at Flemington station and many trains terminating at Showgrounds. 

The roof of the VRC’s new press room has also collapsed in the heavy downpour. 

The Bureau of Meteorology predicts showers will slow in the afternoon.
