A flight attendant has tested positive to COVID in Queensland overnight.

It's believed they travels between Brisbane and Longreach on Sunday July 11 on Qantas flights QF 2534 and QF 2535.

Anyone who travelled on those flights is asked to get tested and quarantine at home. A testing clinic is set to be open at the Longreach Showgrounds at 9am.

It comes after the border was slammed shut to New South Wales this morning, with restrictions easing in Queensland's south east.

This would mean 1 new COVID-19 case for Queensland on Friday.

Chief Health Officer Jeannette Young will make an announcement on Friday morning in the COVID-19 briefing.
