After a tumuluous season 2021 young Bronco Payne Haas looks primed to take on a much bigger leadership role at the club, however it won’t be the coveted captaincy left vacant by the retiring Alex Glenn.

Haas, 21, was back running today at Red Hill for the first time since having two ankle operations in the off-season. The NSW Origin representative telling Dobbo that the top job is not for him.

“I’d honoured but I think we’re got some pretty special leaders here.”

“I’m happy just to focus on my footy”

This would in turn leave the door wide open for new recruit Adam Reynolds to take the reins according to Dobbo, especially given Kevin Walters love for halves as captains.

Haas today became the final broncos player to become vaccinated shutting down speculation that he follow the lead of other players in the compeition of the same faith who have opted to resist.
