Footage Has Emerged Of Horrifying Moment Cop Was Hit By Speeding Car

Footage has emerged of the incident overnight which involved a police officer being hit by a car in Greenacre, Sydney.

The driver was doing twice the speed limit, clocking 121km/hour.

The policeman sustaining injuries to his arms and legs after trying to flag down the speeding car, however the car sped up while overtaking a taxi and struck the officer, flipping him over the car.

According to a police media representative, the officer is understood to be expected to make a full recovery.

Further tests are being done on his left leg, ankle and knee.

Police have advised that the driver, who fled the scene, needs to hand themselves into their nearest police station.
