A major shock came out of the Queensland camp when it was announced that former Broncos listed fullback Reece Walsh will be handed his Origin debut this Sunday night in the do-or-die encounter at Suncorp Stadium.

Walsh, who signed with the Warriors earlier this season from Brisbane has been a revelation in his first seven games of NRL and will become the second-youngest Maroons debutant behind Ben Ikin.

Speaking on The Rush Hour Queenslander with Dobbo former Maroons great Michael Morgan told Dobbo and listeners that despite the risk of blooding the young Warriors fullback in such an important game, the move by Green comes at an opportune moment.

Paul Green named his nineteen-man squad to face the Blues this morning and made a few notable changes, cutting Broncos winger Xavier Coates and recalling veteran hooker Andrew McCullough whilst handing Cowboys prop Frankie Molo his Origin debut.
