Former Olympian Julie McDonald Sends A Strong Message To Mack Horton

Former bronze medallist and long-distance swimmer Julie McDonald has had her say on Mack Horton’s bold stance against Chinese rival Sun Yang last night at the 2019 FINA Swimming World Championships.

Horton incited controversy after refusing to step onto the podium during the medal ceremony in protest against Yang’s previous doping scandals.   

McDonald joined The Big Breakfast team this morning to share her thoughts regarding Horton’s gesture, suggesting athletes should instead focus on using such scandals as competitive motivation.
