Former Aussie opening batsman Matt Renshaw has scored a record triple century in Queensland grade cricket.

The 22-year-old was overlooked for a Test spot in the opening Test against India and his record score was sure to show selectors they made a mistake.

The left-hander scored 345 off just 273 balls. His innings featured 38 boundaries and 12 sixes, helping his side amass 550 for the loss of just four wickets in the two-day game.

Renshaw’s latest effort makes it three centuries in his past four innings in grade cricket but has failed at Sheffield Shield level.

He has only managed 158 runs in his past eight innings.
