This year's Generations in Jazz fest has been hailed a success, officials wrapt with the results of the competition.


Major winners from the City of Mount Gambier National Stage Band Awards, ANZ Vocal Ensemble Awards and University of South Australia Small Jazz Combo Awards were revealed at the Finale Concert and Awards Ceremony.


Adelaide's Marryatville High School took out awards in the top Divisions of all three major categories, including Division 1 Stage Band winner.


Victoria's Aquinas College has been recognised for their efforts with the Small Group Division 1 Vocal Ensemble accolade.


Perth tenor saxophone player Jayden Blackley has been awarded $10,000, taking home the coveted James Morrison Scholarship for instrumentalists.


The $5,000 Vocal Scholarship has been awarded to 20 year old Stephanie Russel from Newcastle, New South Wales.


Officials are praising the efforts of local venues, with host venue The Barn served nearly 21,000 meals across the weekend.


All accommodation within a 100km radius of Mount Gambier was fully booked for the weekend, providing a welcome boost for our local economies.
