How does a Gin Distillery in our very own backyard sound?

It could be a reality with plans having been submitted to Toowoomba Regional Council.

A proposal has been put forward to turn a renovated 100-year-old creaming shed at a property on Pechey Forestry Road into an artisan distillery.

If successful the distillery would initially be capable of producing 1000 litres of gin a year, and up to 3000 litres per annum down the track.

The project couldn’t come at a better time after the popular Gin Sanity Festival held in Toowoomba last month, selling out.

The report submitted to Council indicates that the new distillery would produce no odour issues and could be confined to small space.

Toowoomba Regional Council has yet to respond or request further information in relation to the project.

Are you in favour of a Gin distillery in the region?
