The NRL season is only forty-nine days away and with the competition facing its third year in a row of covid related interruptions a not-so-ridiculous prospect is dawning on the players; would it be so bad to just catch the disease now?

It’s a prospect being entertained by players at Brisbane, who had sixteen members of their playing group forced into isolation after testing positive in past weeks.

Speaking on The Rush Hour with Leisel, Liam and Dobbo Broncos strike centre Kotoni Staggs joked about getting in close with infected members of his teams to get it out of the way.

“I’d rather get it now than in the season or even before the first game” Staggs laughed

“I wanted to go over to some of the boys house who had it and give ‘em a cuddle but that didn’t happen.”
