Gold Coast Facing Massive Flu Shot Shortage

Doctors are warning of a massive shortage of flu shots available across the Gold Coast this year.

The stock for people not covered by the free vaccinations is dropping dramatically due to a surge in demand from people looking to avoid a repeat of 2017's devastating flu season.

Dr Paul van Buynder from Gold Coast Health says we should get in early before GP's and health clinics run out.

"For reasons to do with companies there's become a massive shortage of private stock in Australia," said van Buynder.

"All doctors are having trouble getting stock for people who aren't entitled to free flu vaccine, and that's a very big concern."
