Gold Coast Hair Salon BANS Anyone Who Has Been Vaccinated For COVID
"We are not your hairdresser"
Concerns are continuing to be raised about misinformation on COVID vaccines that could prevent more of us from getting the jab.
It comes after a Gold Coast hair salon took to social media this week banning customers who've been vaccinated because they're concerned they could catch their side effects. Since the post, the salon has received backlash from the public.
AMA Vice President Dr Chris Moy says we need to be cautious about what we read on social media and only take advice from medical professionals.
"Things people are reading on social media are to some degree very problematic, particularly to people who are a bit gullible to this sort of thing, and unfortunately, that has flow on effects", he said.
The Palm Beach business posted on social media this week, "We are not your hairdresser if you have had the COVID vax".
Salon owner Yazmina Adler has defended her decision amidst the backlash.
