After being announced back in August, the Alternative Australian music festival finally had its inaugural show at Flemington Racecourse on Friday. Read the festival announcement here!
Local support Stuck Out kicked off the festivities on a hot Melbourne day, note to self: 39 degrees and all black clothing don't mix. Read here for Sydney and Brisbane supports.
Up-and-comers Ecca Vandal and Waax impressed festival goers, whilst Pop-Punk favourites Tonight Alive, Mayday Parade and Dashboard Confessional proved why they're some of the best in the genre.
Japanese Kawaii Metal band BABYMETAL made their long-awaited Australian debut to adoring fans, and to say that they were entertaining would be an understatement. See photos below!
Alternative Rock band The Used, Metal group Bullet For My Valentine and Punk rockers All Time Low all put their mark on the festival, and are sure to make future appearances - fingers crossed the festival returns!
Celtic Punk band the Dropkick Murphys proved to be a crowd favourite, as fans sung along to tracks like "Rose Tattoo" word-for-word, check it out below:
Corey Taylor's Stone Sour then hit the main stage. Melbourne welcomed the band with a resounding applause and raised fists. A favourite among Aussie Heavy Metal fans, Taylor also fronts Slipknot. Shout-out to the front man who turns 45 on Saturday, Happy Birthday Corey!
The festival headliners, The Offspring, then took to center stage with none other than No Doubt's Tony Kanal! The band performed their genre-defining record 'Smash' from front to back, classics "Gotta Get Away", "Come Out And Play" and "Self-Esteem" were undeniable highlights. Appearing on the Project earlier this week, the band admitted to having to re-learn old material for their 'Smash' set list. Read here.
Hearing Dexter Holland's vocals felt like we'd been sucked into a time-machine, flashback to 2002 playing Tony Hawk's Pro Skater. The nostalgia was real.
Good Things is proof that Australia misses it's live music festivals, and evidence that we're hungry for more! If one thing's for sure, it's that we're heading in the right direction with the likes of both Good Things and Download Festival landing Down Under in recent years.
