Gorden "The Raging Bull" Tallis has charged into the debate about the bunker and the referees in the only way that he can: Full steam ahead.

After the weekend's controversy saw Canberra Raiders coach Ricky Stuart call for the Bunker to be axed and NRL CEO Todd Greenberg promise referees will be stood down, the Bunker and the refs are copping it from all sides of rugby league.

However Gordie has defended both, saying that the real issue in the game isn't with the Bunker or the refs but with the coaches and the players, accusing them of "rorting the system" and "cheating".

At the launch of Fox League's "Retro Round" today, Tallis also spoke about which era he believes was the best for rugby league, Wayne Bennett's future and whether he believes the Broncos young forwards are the best in the clubs history.
