It was one of the great rock show you will ever see. If you weren’t there, don’t read any further and click here to buy tickets for their tour now.

Ok:

Blasting onto the stage for an epic 2 hour plus, high energy, hit filled set, these vintage punks who are celebrating 30 years as a band on the Revolution Radio World Tour proved to Melbourne last night why they’re top of their game and Green Day is a name we will never forget.

Coming onto the stage at Rod Laver Arena, Green Day opened with the Revolution Radio back drop and the blasted out fan favourite from 21st Century Breakdown 'Know Your Enemy', before getting the energetic new singles 'Bang Bang' and 'Revolution Radio' out of the way.

From then, the backdrop changed to the old school Green Day logo and we hitched a ride back through their 30 year career of punk rock, down the Boulevard of Broken Dreams and after 2 encores said Good Riddance, with a solo acoustic moment that brought us all back down to earth.

Who's going for round 2 @greenday tonight??

The cherry on top was the medley that of ‘Shout’ that mashed in Rolling Stones ‘Can’t Get No (Satisfaction)’ into The Beatles ‘Hey Jude’ and included ‘Careless Whisper’ (yes that one) and ‘Always Look On The Bright Side Of Life’, wearing their rock influences on their patch vest.

Watch ‘Hey Jude’:

The band, Billy Joe, Tre Cool and Mike Dirnt were non stop and front man Billy Joe’s constant cries of thanks and appreciation makes you understand why, after so a career of ups and downs, this band still band together to make kick ass songs and put on the rock show of a lifetime.
