Greg Blewett has named his starting XI for the World Cup semi final against England, and he's made a few changes to the top seven.

With Usman Khawaja out of the tournament due to a hamstring injury and Marcus Stoinis in doubt, Blewett ran through his top seven for the do-or-die clash.

It included a promotion up the order for Alex Carey, who slammed 85 off 69 balls against South Africa and is averaging 65.80 for the tournament.

"I'd have Alex Carey now at number five," he told Triple M's Rush Hour with Biggles and Blewie.

"This is one of the big stories of the World Cup for Australia. 85 off only 69 deliveries, he's going really well."
