A suspended leaner driver who killed a Central Coast aged care nurse has pleaded guilty.

21 year old BIANCA HARRINGTON apologised today outside Gosford Local Court over the September 2016 crash on Mann Street in Gosford that claimed the life of 62 year old KAY SHAYLOR.

A more serious aggravated driving charge was dropped after the magistrate agreed it would be difficult for a jury to deliver a guilty verdict because it was impossible to prove when the traces of drugs found in the accused were actually administered after the prosecution failed to include a hospital report in it's brief of evidence.

HARRINGTON, who is still facing up to 10 years behind bars for dangerous driving causing death, will be sentenced on November 24.
