Football and Performance Director of the Brisbane Broncos Ben Ikin remains confident that a potential shift of player management will not impact Payne Haas’ future at Red Hill.

Haas, 21, is argubaly the most valuable asset on the Broncos roster and is contracted until the end of 2024. However a potential sift to Sonny Bill Williams’ management company could pull him closer to the Roosters.

However a bullish Ikin told The Rush Hour Queenslander that he can undestand the overwhelming interest in his forward but is assured listeners that the Origin representative will not be living Brisbane any time soon.

‘When you’re as good as Payne Haas is you’ve got every right to test your value and explore your options.”

“All we can do as the Brisbane Broncos is build a footy program and a culture that Payne Haas wants to be part of”

Haas, who debuted for the club in 2018, was awarded Dally M Prop on the year in 2021 and took home his third successive Paul Morgan Player of the Year at the Broncos.
