This morning on the show, Bridge & Spida got on the phone to the Queensland Fire and Emergency Services Assistant Commissioner, John Bolger, to chat about the high fire warnings for the Gold Coast.

We're only five days into spring and the Gold Coast is on fire watch. There are fires and smoke around Canungra and the Hinterland - residents are told to be aware of what's happening and what's still to come.

QFES Assistant Commissioner, John Bolger, advises residents to look at their bush fire safety plan and says this is the last day to go around the house to make sure things are tucked away and prepared.

Make sure you listen below to hear his advice if you have asthma. He'll be back on the show on Friday when temperatures are expected to rise.
