If you're looking for a great day out with the family for Australia Day, look no further than what's happening in Griffith and surrounding towns:

Narrandera

From 8am-10:30, there will be flag raising in the park, followed by a BBQ and accompanied by their ambassador for the year.  

Citizen of the year awards to follow until 12pm and a big family day down at the pool with music 12pm-4:30pm.

Barellan

Australia Day will beheld at Barellan pool at 11am-1pm. Go on down for a BBQ lunch, a fun family day, damper making and bush poetry for a real Aussie Australia Day 

Grong Grong

At 12pm, there will be  flag raising in the park, followed by lunch at the sports club for $5 a head. Bookings are essential so you secure your place!

Griffith

Breakfast at Pioneer Park, awards at the theatre at 9am for 9:30am - citizenship ceremony, sports awards and Australia Day awards. There will also be a colouring in competition from the library.

This will be followed by a morning tea with ambassador, Chelsea Bonner. 

Leeton

Start your Australia Day with breakfast in Mountford Park from 7:30am, served by the local service clubs. Come down and enjoy some live music before the official presentations of the Australia Day awards kick off at 9:15am.

Following the formalities, cool off your Australia Day with the family-fun Leeton Pool Party at the Leeton Swimming Pool. Entry is FREE all day. Enjoy music by local DJ, giveaways and rides.

A DJ will perform from 4pm-8pm and the Lions Train and Merry-Go-Round will be in action from 4pm-6pm. 

Hillston

It's all happening at the Hillston Community Hall and it's FREE!  Starting at 11am there will be the presentation of 2017 Awards followed by a light lunch and a number of speeches including that of ambassador Jeff Sayle.  Then the day will include a Thong Throwing Competition which will be judged by the ambassador himself!  For more information call 6965 1900.
