UPDATE: 

Police have declared a crime scene, after a house fire this morning at Greenslopes.

A police spokesperson has confirmed the house, on the corner of Old Cleveland Road and Lilly Street, was abandoned at the time of the blaze. He says there had been no power connected at the property.

EARLIER:

There's a heap of smoke on the southside of Brisbane this morning, thanks to a nasty house fire at Greenslopes. 

Emergency crews were called to the place on the corner of Old Cleveland Road and Lilly Street just after 7.15am. 

The single level, older-style wooden house was already well engulfed in flames.

Queensland Police has shut one lane of Old Cleveland Rd and motorists are being told to expect delays and avoid the area.

Paramedics are at the scene, but there are no patients at this stage.
