It has been reported that human remains have been found inside a crocodile, with North Queensland police releasing a statement on the matter following the death of 79-year-old Anne Cameron.

Police can confirm human remains have been located inside a crocodile which was removed by officers from the Department of Environment and Heritage Protection (EHP) at Mowbray River near Craiglie overnight. The 4.3-metre estuarine crocodile, which is believed to be the one involved in the death of 79-year-old Anne Cameron, was examined by a specialist in Cairns today with human remains being located inside. Police investigations continue with officers preparing a report for the Coroner.

Ms Cameron suffered from dementia, and her clothes and walking stick were found near Mowbray River.

More to come.
