“I’m filthy” | Kayln Ponga Responds to Losing 'Best Mate' Watson to Roosters
THE RUSH HOUR QUEENSLANDER WITH DOBBO
They had shared dreams of winning a premiership together at Newcastle but player movement madness has claimed another scalp as Knights utility Connor Watson announced to teammates that he would be leaving to re-join the Roosters on a two-year contract worth a reported $300,000 a season.
Speaking on The Rush Hour Queenslander with Dobbo teammate Kayln Ponga shared his honest thoughts on his good mate departing the club.
“I'm still trying to swallow it to be honest. I'm happy for him...at the same time i'm filthy you know my (he's) best mate of the last three years" Ponga told Dobbo and Gordie Tallis.
“Obviously, I want him to stay and win a comp here and that's the dream for me"
Watson, 25, has played 62 games for Newcastle since joining from the Roosters in 2018.
