The rugby league world is in mourning following the death of former Maroons and Cowboys premiership coach Paul Green this morning.
Green took the North Queensland to their first ever premiership in 2015 in one of the great grand finals of the modern era.
Speaking to Triple M NRL former Cowboys captain Michael Morgan paid tribute to the club’s inaugural premiership coach who he played under that famous night.
“I said it throughout my career when he unfortunately moved on from the Cowboys, how much he taught me about the game”
“You grow up playing it, thinking you know everything, but he just opened up a whole new world to the actual knowledge of the game. I’ve never been able to thank him enough.”

Green’s impact upon rugby league in Brisbane was massive, having led the club he played his football at, the Wynnum/Manly Seagulls, to back-to-back QCup victories in 2011 and 2012. Former Seagulls alumnus Wally Lewis reflected on Green’s legacy
