Mick Molloy has commended Triple M's Hot Breakfast after their decision to wrap up the show after 11 years of breakfast radio.

Mick, Jane Kennedy and EP Jay Mueller - who used to oversee the show - took a special moment to reflect on the show, which will hang up the headphones at the end of the month, during Wednesday's edition of Kennedy Molloy.

"I was fortunate enough to be part of it for about five years, and I loved it," he reflected.

"Eddie McGuire is one of the best broadcasters this country has. He's a personal friend of mine.

"I particularly want to mention Luke Darcy, who I think can work anywhere anytime in this business - he's one of the best in the business - and Rosie (Walton) of course.

"(It was) a great show and I was honoured to be part of it."
